Gleim Takes Oath as New State Representative for the 199th Legislative District
January 1, 2019
HARRISBURG – Rep. Barb Gleim (R-Cumberland), the new representative for the 199th Legislative District, was formally sworn into office today.
“It is truly an honor to represent the people of the 199th Legislative District, and I am looking forward to working with my colleagues to further address the important issues facing Pennsylvania and our Cumberland County communities,” Gleim said.
Well-known in Cumberland County’s farming community, Gleim and her husband own and operate a Hereford beef farm. She understands that reducing duplicative and outdated regulations and Pennsylvania’s astronomical tax rate on businesses will unleash economic power of the state’s numerous small and medium size businesses.
“We need to reduce government debt and support a sustainable budget for the future so that our children won’t be saddled by poor economic decisions of Harrisburg’s past,” Gleim said. “Our businesses need employees trained for the economy we have, not a theoretical economy from a dusty textbook. For that, we need to first ensure that schools are safe, properly funded and locally controlled. Then, we need our schools to teach the skills for which employers are looking.”
Gleim’s district office is located at:
126 N. Hanover St.
Carlisle, PA 17013
