HARRISBURG – Rep. Marci Mustello (R-Butler) today announced the Butler County Area Vocational-Technical School has been awarded $85,000 as part of a program to purchase new equipment to help train students in high-demand occupations through career and technical education programs.
“Supporting programs that prepare the next generation of young adults for real-world careers is paramount to achieving success as individuals, while supporting the needs of businesses across Pennsylvania,” said Mustello. “Vocational education is a critical component of tomorrow’s workforce and a resource that we need to build and maintain today.”
More than $4 million in competitive grants were awarded to 55 career and technical centers (CTCs) and school districts in the Commonwealth.
There are more than 80 CTCs in Pennsylvania that offer a combination of classes and hands-on learning programs approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Education. Thousands of students earn industry credentials or certifications for local jobs in high demand, so they graduate on a path to success.
