BUTLER – Rep. Marci Mustello (R-Butler) will be teaming up with the Butler County Chamber of Commerce to host a free Identity Theft Seminar on Tuesday, March 8.

The event will begin at 7 p.m. at the Butler Township Park Building, 468 South Butler Road, in Butler.

“Identity theft is one of the fastest-growing crimes across the Commonwealth and we need to put a stop to it,” said Mustello. “Identity thieves often strike when you least expect it, so it is crucial to avoid taking the security of your personal data for granted. As you take steps to protect your information and identity, you'll make yourself a more difficult target for thieves and may even stop them in their tracks.”

A representative from the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office will conduct the seminar and answer questions.

The curriculum will include:

How to recognize signs of identity theft.
Ways to protect yourself from identity theft.
What to do if you believe you are a victim of identity theft.

For more information, contact Mustello’s district office at 724-283-5852, or visit her website to register at RepMustello.com/events.
